Around 5,000 supporters flocked to the family stand to greet their heroes and watch Nigel Pearson's new men for the first time. Only Sean St Ledger - resting still after international duty - was not present and all but one of the Foxes' squad completed a full session of drills, games and shoot-outs in what seemed to be a well-spirited, light-hearted event.

Only new boy Richie de Laet failed to complete the full hour, citing later that a quadriceps niggle saw him sit-out the latter stages. Meanwhile, fellow newcomer Jamie Vardy impressed as he was sharp in the box and at ease with his new teammates.

Pearson was pleased that so many fans turned-out to see the players, sporting their new Puma home strip for the first time.

"We wanted to get out there and interact with the fans so it was good to see such a good turn-out and, with us having a new brand and a new kit, it's been a worthwhile day for a number of reasons," said the City boss, "In terms of a training session it was something of a warm-down, but to launch the kit it was great for the fans to come along and see the players in it.

"And what a great turn out. They will have seen the players in a different light today, there was some good humour in there, and I think they enjoyed it."
